It seems that I finally can do my Postgraduate research in Melbourne.
On the homepage of the Australian Government I read some information about my visa.
I'm happy that I can extend it to my partner but I have to ensure that I can support him during the time in Australia.
I should have 18.000 AUD -for me-plus 6.300 AUD for my partner= 24.300 AUD. The problem is that my scholarship isn't such high (nearly but not enough). Would it be an alternative if we can show that we have enough money on our bank accounts? And if yes, how much would be enough?
With this kind of visa he has a work permission included, so it will be not a big problem for him to find a job...
I believe presenting a bank statement showing that you have enough money to support yourself and your partner is sufficient. It is not necessary to actually earn that much money while being in Australia. As long as the balance on the statement is at least the equivalent of AUD 24.300 (consider that you will have to pay for air tickets!) then you should be fine.
da hast Du mich wohl falsch verstanden. Solange ihr nach Abzug der Flugkosten noch AUD 24.300 verfuegbares Geld (Kontostand von euch beiden + Scholarship) vorweisen koennt, sehe ich da ueberhaupt kein Problem.
